About New Albany
New Albany is a village in Franklin and Licking Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, just northeast of the state capital of Columbus. Most of the village is located in Franklin County; only a small portion of the village extends into adjacent Licking County. The population was 3,711 at the 2000 census; it was estimated to have increased to 6,588 by 2007. Founded in 1837, it is now a growing suburb in the Columbus area. The New Albany Country Club constitutes a significant portion of the village, and the golf course has 27 holes. The smaller New Albany Links golf course (18 holes) also covers much land in the village.
This once rural farm town has exploded, starting with the 1992 Parade of Homes built around the master planned community (including schools, market square, and country club all designed to reflect brick and wood siding Georgian style homes in Boston Bay Area and Tidewater Virginia). Miles of trails connect all the neighborhoods and parks. The new homes in New Albany’s architecturally controlled areas (in the white fenced areas) are selling in a price range from $450,000 to millions of dollars.
